When performing Snaps, it is essential to maintain pressure in the tail. Regardless power comes from the shoulders or hips (depending on the type of turn), the feet should keep pressing on the edges, and arms should engage the rotation. For me, one of the hardest things is to keep my front leg bent after performing the turning, and to keep pushing with the back leg in order to be centred. One of the things we practice with @morasol is changing surfaces and inclinations, focusing on detail, and trying variations of the movement.
But much of the repetition and performance is not easy to keep if your body is not ready for that. So I compensate for it with @gutisbrushup training to increase the core stability and leg strength to keep the pressure.

Improving in #surfskate as any other sport requires commitment and dedication. It’s about enjoying while learning and achieving new body movements. KEEP GOING!

Sometimes we need to go back to the technique and repeat many times to improve in the long term.
Sometimes training on flat is necessary, progress with the same movement and position in different surfaces slowly to be able to spot the mistakes.
It’s not about to go fast and sharp. Surfskate is about perfecting and getting better in the detail.

Patience, dedication, technique, fun, repeat.

In few weeks @jennippe did an incredible job. She started from zero in the winter and in every session she overcame to every challenge.
We worked with video correction, repetition, posture changes and all that was reflected on her progress. Her dedication and confidence to keep trying make her advance fast and continuous improvement, getting fun at the same time.

Skate and surfskate are though sports at the beginning but they teach you that effort pays off. However technique and attention is needed.
Sometimes things do not work out, but we need to breathe and relax. Tomorrow will be a new opportunity. And, in fact, many times movements are unlocked after resting. Our body needs to absorb all the new knowledge and the brain need to be calm in order to perform better. Other times, we need to change places, trying other surfaces and spaces, that allow us to learn better. I always encourage to explore new skateparks or slopes in the city. We also learn from our relationship with the space in which we are riding! Skate is about occupying spaces and engage with the challenge the surface offer to us.

I am really thankful to all the people who has been learning with me all these months in Finland and other places. It was a great lesson for me as well!
Teaching is also about self reflection and training, observation, confidence, patience, kindness. Not everyone learns the same way and we need to adapt and be there for the other.

I am also very grateful to @morasol and @pyojany who continuously support and coaching me ☺️ 🫶

This training is designed for preparing you to surf in your best condition possible. Surf is a very exigent sport and requires mind and body alignment. If you have never surfed before, you will learn the basic movements and positions. If you are an occasional surfer, you will revise all the important steps to be able to surf again from the first day onwards. Our goal is to prepare you to get the most out of your next surf trip. With our training technique you will be ready for it!

The program is designed to cover three specific areas: body, mind and technique. With our experience, we included a set of exercises drawn from different disciplines like calisthenics, meditation, yoga, surfskate, swimming, apnea and more. After this workshop, you will be ready to paddle, pop-up, resist your breath, wave reading, pump and turn.

An additional theoretical material will be provided as well. The program consists of five hours of training per week, and the sessions will mix these areas into a very intense but comfortable way to increase your resistance and resilience. The length of the training is five weeks.

Technique (Surfskate training) — 7 hours

Starting on: April 14th, 2025
Workshops will be taught Monday, Thursday and Saturday, mixing body and technique in single sessions, the mind sessions will be apart.
